We have an official preschool graduate at the Almeida House! How is that possible when we just brought the little guy home from the hospital like 2 days ago?! Remember when you heard people talk about how fast time flies, and you thought they were SUPER old? Yeah. Me too. And now here I am.
Kingston has attended the sweetest little preschool for the last two years, and we’re so thankful for the opportunity to send him there. They’ve loved him and have partnered with us in teaching him about how much God loves him. They have this cute thing where one of the school leaders will ask the kids, “How are you today?” And they all yell back, “SHINING BRIGHTLY!”
We’ve had an exciting, emotional few days! When I dropped Kingston off earlier this week, his teacher handed me the sweetest surprise – she had taken pictures of each kid in a cap and gown and had them printed for us. I immediately texted it to Anderson, and he pretty much cried the rest of the day. Then today they had the cutest VPK Celebration where the kids sang songs and received a certificate. We invited Grandma and Grandpa, but I told Anderson he couldn’t come if he was going to ugly cry the whole time. 🙂 Kingston was so nervous (he always is before any type of performance) but did a great job singing with his friends. Except for when he would stop singing and mouth “MOM! Take My Picture!” while pretending to take a picture with his hands.
Sometimes he’s me: Nervous before performing.
And sometimes he’s Anderson: TAKE MY PICTURE!
My constant prayers for King are that he will continue to grow in wisdom, and in stature, and in favor with God and man. (Luke 2:52) That he will love the Lord his God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Luke 10:27) And that he will know he was not born for this world. (John 15:19)
He’s not our own, but it’s our job to raise him to be a light that shines (BRIGHTLY) in the darkness. We’re working on it!
