I had a business trip last week. Anderson couldn’t go, so my mom and I took on New Orleans together! My mom is a great traveling partner. She’s easy to please, never meets a stranger and will do just about anything–once. We had the best food, shopped ‘til we dropped, walked all over the French Quarter and even braved Bourbon Street!

We had dinner one night at a fabulous Creole restaurant, Olivier’s.

Mom and a Dutch butcher… statue.

Jean Lafitte’s.

Jackson Square.

Old buildings = love!

  1. Hillarious b/c Carl and I were in Lafayette last weekend! He had to go on business [aka to get a physical for his new Houston job, their corporate offices are in LA] and I came too.We did the creole thing too. And unfortunately, we were both disappointed in the whole state. Dirty and smelly….way way overrated I thought! And when I tell people that [aka Tennessee people ] they blame it on Katrina. IT ISN’T KATRINA…..THE STATE IS JUST DIRTY!

  2. haha! we are always on the same wavelength…scary! i was pretty disappointed too. and it’s funny, b/c i asked a lot of locals about katrina and they said it didn’t affect the french quarter (where we were) very much.
