On my first Mother’s Day, Anderson gave me a beautiful silhouette necklace with Baby Kingston’s picture on it. It was THE perfect gift for a new mom. I think I might have even cried a little. (Could have just been the hormones!) Fast forward a few years, and I decided I really wanted an updated necklace. Baby Kingston’s profile was adorable, but Toddler Kingston’s profile is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. That little nose! So I went searching for the girl who made the first one, and she is absolutely no where to be found. Dropped right off the face of the internet! Bummer.

Feeling disheartened by the disappearance of the original artist, I turned to the vast expanse of the internet in search of a solution. After scrolling through countless pages, I stumbled upon a website specializing in personalized jewelry. Intrigued, I clicked through the various options until I found the perfect solution: a Personalized Name Necklace. The idea struck a chord with me, and I realized that I could also add my mom’s nickname, creating a timeless piece that captured her essence. This seemed like the perfect way to honor her memory and keep her close to my heart.

But I got a crazy idea. I could make my own! Then (because I always go to extremes) I decided to open my own etsy store and sell them. I mean, why not!? So I bought all the supplies, watched a few YouTube videos, and went to work. Then I spent about a month trying to perfect them. If I was going to sell these necklaces they had to be perfect! That’s when I realized that the amount of time I was spending on them meant I’d have to charge an arm and a leg – plus a kidney – to make the effort worth it. So I scratched the whole thing, and admitted that jewelry making is not for me. Oh well. It was worth a try!

So… all that to say, since I have all the supplies I thought I’d make a necklace and do a giveaway for Mother’s Day! Enter below and win one for the most important mom in your life, or for yourself. 🙂 Here’s what you’ll get: A custom silhouette pendant of your special someone, so you can keep your child, husband or anyone you choose with you all the time! The pendant is 1 inch and features a classic vintage-style black silhouette on a white background. You can choose a 24″ or 36″ length chain in antique bronze plate finish. If you have two kids I can do two charms, and you can choose the chain length for each, or just stack them both on one chain. If you have more than two kids, you’ll just have to pick your two favorite. Ha! Just kidding! Enter through April 28th.

She has pretty much come right in and taken over raising my niece (along with my brother in-law), with no questions asked. She is 20 years old, and has given up her young life to raise a sweet baby girl who is now 15 months old. My niece's mother is not very stable & has never really been there for her. Shelbie, my sis in-law, loves my niece like her very own and would treasure this necklace so much! She is such a godsend and i am so thankful to have her.

    Entering for my Moma. Who is the most selfless woman around – she loves her family something fierce and her only grandchild, Reese is the light of her life. She’s given up so much to help with my dad over the last several years during his illness and helps with Reese when we need it.   14. I would give the necklace to my friend Whitney who had her son early at 32 weeks by emergency c-section and her husband unfortunately wasn’t there because he just left for his first overseas deployment and won’t get to meet his son for the first time until he is 9 months
