When Life Gives You Lemons

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Applebee’s. The opinions and text are all mine.

We don’t take our health for granted in this family, because we’ve been through enough to know what a gift it is!

As a mom, I can’t imagine the nightmare of having a child diagnosed with cancer. So when Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar reached out to us about helping promote their month-long fundraising campaign with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation we were immediately on board.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was established in 2005 to continue the mission of four-year-old Alex, who while fighting her own battle against cancer, set up a lemonade stand to help raise money for “doctors to find a cure” for all childhood cancers. For the past 15 years, Applebee’s has teamed up with the foundation to raise over $8.2 million dollars to help fund cutting-edge medical research. This year’s goal is to raise more than $1 million dollars for pediatric cancer research and family support programs. You can watch a great video about the campaign here.

Through Sunday, August 11 you can support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in Applebee’s restaurants nationwide by 1.) Purchasing lemon-shaped pin-up cards in $1 and $5 increments or 2.) Purchasing a Lemonade Quencher, new Rainbow Lemonade or regular lemonade refreshment to have a portion of the proceeds donated.

Don’t worry if you can’t make it into a restaurant though! You can still contribute by visiting Applebees.com/AlexsLemonade to find a local participating restaurant and learn about additional ways to join in the fundraising efforts.
