I always look for at least one new experience for us to try when we’re in NYC! And while planning our most recent trip, I briefly mentioned to Anderson that a New York City helicopter tour sounded like fun… and that was it. Our fate sealed. We HAD TO book a helicopter tour over Manhattan. I started doing some research for the top helicopter tours in the city, and HeliNY kept showing up as one of the best rated options. So I booked The New Yorker Tour on their website, and it was the highlight of our entire trip! None of us had ever ridden in a helicopter, and to do it together in our favorite place was hands-down one of the most fun experiences we’ve ever had together! We got to see amazing views of Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, Freedom Tower and the Financial District, the Brooklyn Bridge, Edge in Hudson Yards (you can see people on the observation deck in our pictures below!), The Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, Central Park, Times Square, Little Island. Okay, now I’m just naming landmarks. But we really did get the coolest bird’s eye view of all of them!
If you ever get the chance, we totally recommend booking a tour with HeliNY! The staff was super helpful and professional, our pilot was hilarious, and Anderson says we’re DEFINITELY doing this again one day. 🙂 The flights leave from the Downtown Manhattan Heliport, so you can make a day of your adventure – stop by Leo’s Bagels on the way down to the heliport (there’s always a line, but it moves fast and is worth it!), enjoy your helicopter tour over Manhattan, explore the Financial District – Wall Street, the 911 Memorial and museum, eat at Adrienne’s Pizza Bar on the iconic Stone Street, explore the South Street Seaport, and then walk across the Brooklyn Bridge or take a ferry over to the Statue of Liberty! It will be a day you’ll never forget!!!
