What Love Has Done

When Anderson and I first started dating we were both coming out of dysfunctional relationships.
I was pretty guarded/rude/difficult/hard-hearted. (Good times!)
But Anderson was persistent, and not too long into our relationship it occurred to me that I was happy! For the first time in a long time.
And it was because of love. Not just because I loved Anderson. Or because he loved me. But because of God’s love for both of us. He loves us so much that (if we let him) he will take the worst parts of our lives and redeem them. And when he does, it’s better than anything we could ever hope or imagine.
Not perfect, because we’re pretty screwed up people.
But still beautiful.

My family is a product of God’s redemption. Only he could write our story!
Anderson played this song for me way back in 2007 – of course it’s by U2 – and said it made him think of our relationship.
Two broken people; but look what love has done!

Window in the Skies – listen to it while you look at the pics… if you’re into that sort of thing. 🙂
by U2

The shackles are undone, the bullets quit the gun
The heat that’s in the sun will keep us when there’s none
The rule has been disproved, the stone it has been moved
The grave is now a groove, all debts are removed

Oh can’t you see what love has done?
Oh can’t you see what love has done?
Oh can’t you see what love has done?
What it’s doin’ to me?

And a big thanks to Sarah Eddy for these awesome pictures! I love them so much.
We asked her to capture a Saturday morning at the Almeida house, and she nailed it!
