Local Love – Congaree and Penn Pumpkin Patch

We’ve done ALL the fall things over the years! Pumpkin patches, corn mazes, fall festivals, county fairs… Honestly, it’s a little hard to get into the fall spirit while we’re still sweating profusely in the Florida sun. But I force it every year, and sometimes it’s actually fun! 🙂

Last weekend we stopped by Congaree and Penn on our way home from my parents’ house, and we thought it was the coolest! The farm is on the north side of Jacksonville and is the only rice farm in Florida (and one of the few in the country) that mills its own rice fresh all year long. They are also home to the largest Mayhaw orchard in the world! If you want to get all the fall feels, go by the farm and check out their little pumpkin patch. They also offer covered wagon rides, serve lots of drinks, have a food truck onsite in the evenings, and we even pet some roaming goats while we were there! Just note that tomorrow is the LAST DAY of the pumpkin patch this year. But the weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow, and the Duval county kids are out of school! Go do something fun!!!

PS-There were about a million people taking pictures, so you could easily get all dressed up and ask a random family to take pics for each other!
