Pumpkin Patch – Doing The Fall Things

Every year I have big plans for fall – bonfires with s’mores, hayrides, pumpkin patches, a corn maze, and maybe even some 60 degree weather. But our reality usually looks more like an extended summer (FUMMER?!) – beach days and s’mores ice cream! We did make it to one of our tiny neighborhood pumpkin patches this year though. Sadly there were more people than pumpkins. I think we waited a little too late to go, but we were holding out for that non-existent 60 degree weather! Lots of the families were all dressed up in coordinating outfits. Some even had elaborate props and photographers with them. I’m serious! You couldn’t walk 10 steps without bumping into a group in matching plaids! Is this a pumpkin patch “thing?” Also, why didn’t I think of that?!? We didn’t buy an $18 pumpkin (I got one for $5 at Publix the next day!), but the people watching was FUN, and Kingston enjoyed playing with a wheelbarrow. So, there’s that! And we pulled out our camera too. My favorite picture is the one with Anderson holding the “butt” pumpkin. Making memories I tell ya! And who knows. Maybe next year we’ll make it to a hayride too!
