Gathering your family for Christmas at Gaylord Palms is a great way to kick off the holiday season in Florida! Last weekend, we got a sneak peek of all the festivities and are now officially in the Christmas spirit. 🙂 From the moment we walked in, over 2 million holiday lights and acres of festive decorations made the hotel feel like a tropical Christmas wonderland. Christmas at Gaylord is now open and runs through January 3rd. The event offers more than 15 festive activities for guests and locals to enjoy, including live performances, breakfast with the Grinch, and this year’s featured event, I Love Christmas Movies. You can walk through scenes from five classic Christmas movies in a 17,000 sq. ft. multi-sensory pop-up exhibit. Our favorites were Elf, A Christmas Story, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation!

Our Florida hearts loved the winter wonderland feel of the Snow Factory area! We raced to the bottom on the speed slides at Snow Flow Mountain and got to make and throw real snowballs at the Snowball Build & Blast. Then we joined the jolliest hostess of all (Mrs. Claus!) for a fun-filled celebration of Christmas traditions old and new. She sat by the fire and read ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas and sang one of her favorite Christmas songs. We also got to work inside the Alpine Workshop and became some of Santa’s helpers in an all-new interactive experience! A toy-maker elf helped us create a one-of-a-kind keepsake for someone special. One morning (after a delicious breakfast at Villa de Flora) Kingston and I did The Grinch’s Wonderful Awful Idea Scavenger Hunt, and it was a highlight of the weekend! We followed clues that led us all over the property, and since it was our first visit, we loved seeing all the little details that make the Gaylord Palms so special.

On top of all the Christmas fun, we also got to see three high energy live shows: Cirque Dreams Unwrapped, #LIT Light Show, and The Greatest Story. These shows have complimentary open seating, but you can purchase guaranteed seats for a specific time and date.
