Alpacas and Llamas in Orlando – Lunasea Alpaca Farm

During this adventure Kingston gave me the biggest hug and said, “Thank you, Mom! This is the best day of my life!”

He loves llamas and alpacas, has read countless books about them (even an instruction manual for people thinking about farming them- ha!), has two stuffed llamas that are always close by, and can answer any question you might have about these camelids. See? You didn’t know they were camelids, did you?!

So basically, his 9-year-old life peaked when we took him to Lunasea Alpaca Farm last month. We were headed down to stay at Hilton Orlando for the weekend, and didn’t have any plans except for dinner at our favorite Brazilian place and lunch with a friend at The Glass Knife! By the way, have you been to The Glass Knife?! It’s now my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant in Orlando, because I devoured the best cinnamon roll I’ve EVER eaten there. Add it to your Orlando area list. Okay, back to the animals: So on a whim, I Googled “llamas and alpacas in Orlando” to see if there were any farms in the area and hit the jackpot with Lunasea Alpaca Farm! We got to tour the small family farm, feed the alpacas, and play with/hold the babies! The farm is located in Clermont, which is about 30 minutes northwest of Universal. We were shocked as we got closer to Clermont and the landscape completely changed from busy highways to sleepy back roads and rolling hills. Who knew?!?

Admission to Lunasea Alpaca Farm is $10 per person, and you can book your tour through their website or phone. And there’s also a yoga class you can take with the babies on Saturday mornings if that’s more your speed!

After our llama/alpaca adventure we enjoyed some R&R at Hilton Orlando‘s resort pool complex, and it was the fun “above and beyond” experience we’ve come to expect from this property! We floated through the huge lazy river, swam in two different pools, ate in a private cabana, and after all the floating and eating, napped in lounge chairs. #roughlife And we felt so safe at the property thanks to Hilton CleanStay, a global program introducing a new standard of hotel cleanliness and disinfection. Guests and employees were considerate about wearing masks and social distancing, and Orlando had fewer crowds than I’ve ever experienced.

This weekend was such a fun change of pace from the normal harried Orlando experience. We 10/10 recommend it!
