Happy (almost) July 4th! We spent the day at the pool with friends, had dinner with family, then grabbed some sparklers on our way home and played with them in the front yard while our neighbors shot off fireworks! I’d say we’re off to a pretty good start to the big weekend. I love writing with sparklers, so we pulled out the camera and took some pictures. And I thought some of you might enjoy trying this tomorrow night, so here’s a quick tutorial for writing with sparklers:
You’ll need a DSLR camera and a tripod (or just something sturdy to set your camera on top of) and some sparklers.
Wait until it’s completely dark outside then get everything set up. We used a high f-stop (f16), so it wouldn’t be hard to focus. Then we set a really long shutter speed (8 seconds). I lit the sparklers, so Anderson had something to focus on then he pressed the shutter release all the way and I started “writing” in the air. We all took turns, and got some pretty cool pics! Kingston was really into it. 🙂
I hope you all have a great 4th of July weekend and get a chance to try writing with sparklers tomorrow night! It’s fun but kind of addicting!
