Daily workshops and photo walks, putting theory into practice as you shoot with my guidance.
Lodging
Single or double room lodging will be included in the cost of your retreat for the entire 7 days and 6 nights.

From dining at local restaurants to wine tastings and dining on-site at the monastery, food and wine is included.

Photography Lessons
Learn the elements of photography from ME! – a lifestyle photographer with over a decade of experience. I’ll cover techniques to make the most of your cell phone camera, covering composition, lighting, and editing, and will help even the most beginning photographer elevate their travel photos.
If you struggle to take a picture on your phone, or if you have a digital camera and want some tips and tricks for elevating your photography skills, this trip is for you. We’ll learn using our phone cameras, but you are welcome and even encouraged to bring along any camera you want.
You’ll also come home with some beautiful new portraits of yourself (taken by me!) as well as an e-book of all the lessons we cover to reference any time you want.
I will integrate daily photography lessons into each excursion and will teach you how to tell stories through images as we capture our charming surroundings. You’ll also learn some of my favorite tips for photographing the heart of any location!
Art Lessons
Learn the art of drawing and painting from Monica Foye, owner of The Art Garage teaching studio, and a working artist whose career spans more than two decades. Known for her ability to inspire creativity in others, Monica brings both technical expertise and a genuine love for art to every lesson. She’ll guide you through the fundamentals of composition with pencil, charcoal, and paint, helping complete beginners feel at ease while also challenging experienced students to grow and refine their skills.
If you’ve always dreamed of sketching or longed to elevate your technique, this trip offers the perfect opportunity. In Italy – the country that has stirred the imagination of artists for centuries – Monica will open your eyes to the details that make a scene come alive, from the curve of a hillside to the play of light on a stone wall or the vibrant colors of a bustling piazza. By the end of the retreat you will have the skills and confidence and a fresh perspective to keep creating.
