I’ve been shopping around the internet for some new summer tops and came across this adorable t-shirt at J Crew. It has two of my favorite things – stripes and pom poms! I love J Crew tops, because they last forever and are usually super soft, but I don’t love paying $50 for a t-shirt. I put it in my wishlist to think about it (and see if it went on sale!) and then realized “I could totally make this!” I already have about 8 stripe t-shirts in my closet. Told you I love stripes! And thanks to Target, one of my favorites is black and white and was begging for a little upgrade. So I stopped by Jo-Ann Fabric and picked up a yard of black pom pom trim then came home and pulled out my sewing machine. Using black thread, I attached the trim along the side seams from under the armpits to the bottom hem. It took about 10 minutes! And I’m a slooooow sewing machine operator. You skilled seamstresses could make this J Crew inspired DIY in less than 5 minutes. 🙂
