This is one loved family. They won my contest last month for a free photoshoot by a landslide. People totally came through for them, and I think that says a lot about the kind of people they are.

Mike, Angie, and I go way back. Mike and I suffered through high school math together. I blame my inability to concentrate on his hilarious jokes and ridiculous stories about his life. By some miracle we both survived the class. And I spent an exhausting week in a gypsy camp in Budapest with Angie during college. Let’s just say we’re officially bonded for life after that experience. I love this couple and am so proud to call them friends. The way God is using them is encouraging and challenging. Last year Mike wrote this blog post about their opportunity to adopt three children – 2 brothers and their little sister. They jumped in with both feet and went from being a family of 2 to a family of 5 overnight, and they haven’t looked back for a second. Seeing Mike and Angie with their loving, spunky kids made my heart happy. And I have to admit that I LOVED seeing Michael have to lay down the law a few times!

These kiddos are so blessed to be part of the Ricks tribe. God has big plans for them.
