One Ocean Resort & Spa is tucked into the quiet Atlantic Beach neighborhood and is by far the nicest beach-front property we’ve ever stayed at in the North Florida area. The resort is laid-back luxury done right, and we got to spend some time there over Mother’s Day weekend!

One Ocean is only about 10 minutes from our house, so I checked in early on Friday morning before my guys joined me in the afternoon. And let me tell you… that day of relaxing on our balcony overlooking the ocean, in a comfy chair by the pool, and under an umbrella on the beach (all while reading a book and eating snacks!) was the best Mother’s Day gift ever. 🙂 I never thought I’d be a sit-under-an-umbrella-on-the-beach person, but after spending an entire afternoon under one and not getting sun burnt I think I’ve officially been converted! It was so nice to walk out of the resort and down a boardwalk to a chair and umbrella waiting for me. And I love that One Ocean includes things like the beach chairs in their resort fee, so we didn’t end up spending a bunch of extra money during our stay.

Another thing One Ocean includes in the resort fee is their Docent services. Do you even know what that means?! I didn’t either, so I’ll fill you in: if you need your clothes ironed you just push a button and someone magically appears, takes your clothes, and IRONS THEM FOR YOU. What is this life?! Want a hot coffee with raw sugar and oat milk delivered to your room in 15 minutes? No problem! They also stocked our mini fridge and snack drawer (yes this is a thing!) with all our requests. When we reserved our room they asked what snacks we like, and I said, “Eh, we’re not picky.” But they said they really needed me to be more specific, so I was. And everything I mentioned was in our fridge/snack drawer! I thought about testing them and calling at midnight to ask for some bread pudding from Mezza, one of our favorite restaurants down the street. I didn’t. But what I did do was try to figure out how to make this a thing at home. I quickly found out that it’s already a thing at home. But I’m the Docent! 🙂

When Anderson and Kingston joined me we spent some time at the ocean-front pool and then walked across the street to the Beaches Town Center for dinner. This area is one of our favorite local spots, because it’s packed with great restaurants and fun boutiques. There’s so much delicious food in the area, but our favorite meal of the weekend was breakfast at the resort’s on-property restaurant, Azurea. We asked our server for recommendations, and everything he suggested was incredible!

I also enjoyed a pedicure in the newly renovated spa while the guys hung out at the pool in the afternoon. It was the best pedicure I’ve ever had! Such a relaxing experience. And when the service was finished I had time to relax in a daybed facing the ocean. (Does this all sound like a Mother’s Day dream?! Because IT WAS!)

This was the perfect, relaxing staycation experience for our family, and we’ll be recommending One Ocean Resort & Spa to all our out-of-town family and friends. And to all our local friends… and basically to anyone else who will listen! It’s a beautiful spot for a romantic getaway or a family vacation!
